If every guest, at any event, should end up holding the photos they appear in, delivered to their WhatsApp with nothing to install and nowhere to sign up, PiciMe does that, and its $120 to $200 per event is the highest entry price in the table. For a shared QR gallery at a birthday or a party, Kululu and GuestPix start at $39 one-time and Fotify starts free with a live carousel on every plan. For a company event or a conference where someone has to approve photos before they go public, Gathershot ($59.99 per event) is built around that step. Every tool here is one of two kinds. In the first, a QR code goes on the tables, guests upload to a shared gallery and everyone scrolls the same feed. In the second, the tool figures out which photos each guest is in and sends that guest only those. A WhatsApp group with 300 photos in it is a digital shoebox; nobody will dig through it for the 12 photos grandma is in. Most tools below solve storage. A few solve distribution, and that is the line this comparison is drawn along.

Every price and limit was read on the vendor's own site in September 2026; "not published" means the site does not say. Best event type is our reading of each vendor's own positioning against the criteria above.

How we compared (and who wrote this)

This page was written by PiciMe, and PiciMe is scored on the same eight criteria as the other ten tools. When a different tool is the better fit for an event type, it is named.

The eight table columns are the criteria: entry price in US dollars; whether a guest must install an app or open an account; whether each guest can get a gallery of just their own photos, found by face recognition; a slideshow on a venue screen; whether guests can upload; retention period; whether the photos reach guests on WhatsApp; and the event type the vendor targets. Prices were read on each vendor's own site on the date given; when a site prices in local currency, hides the number behind a calculator or leaves a limit unstated, the table says so. No third-party roundup supplied a price.

Five of these are also the questions to ask any vendor before you sign. Who ends up with the photos, the guest or only the hosts? If the hosts forward a ZIP themselves, distribution is still your job. App or account? Every extra step loses part of the room. How long are the photos kept? Get a number in writing. What happens to the guest's selfie after the match? A vague answer is the answer. Can the guests' phone photos be collected too? At a bar mitzvah or a birthday, those phones are most of the material.

PiciMe: best for any event where every guest should get their own photos on WhatsApp

Three plans, per event, in US dollars, on the PiciMe pricing page. Basic (shared album) is $120: a shared gallery, photo collection from guests and a WhatsApp link. Plus (personal album) is $170: face recognition builds a personal AI gallery for every guest, delivered as a WhatsApp link. Premium (full experience) is $200: everything, plus a live screen with real-time photos. The list's "up to 500 guests" is a pricing bound of those plans; the product has no cap on photos or participants. No free plan is listed.

What guests do

Guests install nothing and register nowhere. The hosts hand the guest list to PiciMe, before the event to collect guest photos during it or a day after to distribute only, and PiciMe opens the event and loads the list. When the hosts choose, a personal link lands in each guest's WhatsApp: one tap, one selfie, and the guest sees every photo they are in. The selfie is not kept; a return visit asks for a fresh one and matches afresh. At the venue a QR code opens that same link, and the gallery grows over time as photographers and guests upload.

Where it fits and where another tool is better

Distribution draws on every photo uploaded to the event: the photographer's whole take on Plus, and on Premium the guests' phone photos as well, so a guest receives photos no edited album would have included. Another tool wins on price: no free tier, and $120 is the steepest entry here; Kululu sells a shared gallery for $39. Photos stay about six months, extendable; Gathershot, GuestCam and GuestPix hold them a year or longer. GuestPix bundles invitations, RSVP and a guestbook, and Fotify invitations and RSVP; PiciMe does not. Guest uploads are published for Basic and Premium only; if you want them with Plus, ask before you book.

Fotify: best for a party that wants invitations and a live carousel for free

Fotify's pricing page localizes to the country you load it from, with no currency switcher. Its own event roundup lists the plans in dollars, quoted as Fotify's figures: Free Event $0 (50 photos, 7 days), Photo Gallery $29.99 per event (unlimited photos, 90 days), Premium Event $49.99 (adds video, 365 days). Professional subscriptions on the same list are $99 a month for 3 active events and $149 for 6.

What guests do

Guests scan the code or tap the link, upload from the browser and scroll the album there; nothing to install, no account. Every route opens the same shared album.

Where it fits and where another tool is better

The free plan is the party fit: a carousel on every plan, and Free Event carries 20 invitations with RSVP, seating management, song requests and basic moderation. No personal album: face recognition is not published, and Match & Connect is guest-to-guest networking; PiciMe sends each guest their own photos, GuestCam sells a selfie search as a paid extra. The free upload window is 7 days, where GuestPix's free gallery gives 30.

GuestPix: best for birthdays and parties with a guestbook and invitation in one place

Party packages, one-time, in US dollars with a currency switcher. Free: 50 photos, unlimited guests, a 30-day upload window and a digital invitation with RSVPs. Small is $39, photos only: one gallery, a QR code and invite with RSVPs, unlimited photos, a slideshow, a written guestbook, moderation, uploads for 3 months and downloads for 12. Medium is $49 and adds unlimited videos and a video guestbook. Large is $89: three albums, custom colors and fonts, 12 months of upload and download. Where it fits and where another tool is better

Hosting runs 12 months from the event date on every paid package, with a discounted renewal after that. Everyone scrolls the same feed; neither face recognition nor WhatsApp delivery is published. Small is photos only, and uploads close after three months on Small and Medium, where GuestCam Standard keeps them open for six months at $49. For each guest to receive their own photos, PiciMe Plus at $170 is the route.

GuestCam: best for large events with heavy video and a self-search add-on

Both plans are one-time, per event. Standard, $49, covers unlimited guests, photos and videos in one main gallery, with uploads open for 6 months, storage for 12 and an audio guestbook. Premium, $97, allows six main galleries, each with its own QR code, and stretches the upload window to 12 months and storage to 14. MagicFind, the face-search add-on, is $45 per event on top of either plan. No free tier, no per-guest charge.

What guests do

A guest scans the code or taps the link and uploads from the browser; no app, nothing to sign up for. With MagicFind switched on, the same portal takes a selfie and returns a personal gallery the guest can download.

Where it fits and where another tool is better

The file limits are the biggest published here, photos to 20 MB and videos to 9.8 GB, with a live slideshow for the venue screen and a guest portal in 17 languages. Face matching costs extra and works in reverse: the guest goes looking, nothing is pushed to their phone, and WhatsApp delivery is not mentioned. Only photos uploaded after activation are searchable, up to 50 faces per event. Standard plus MagicFind is $94 against PiciMe Plus at $170; the gap buys the delivery.

Kululu: best for a small family party on a budget

Prices are in US dollars, one-time; a banner on the day we checked promised 50 percent off every plan for a limited time, and the sale prices are what we quote. Free takes up to 50 uploads from unlimited guests, is active for 24 hours, counted from the event date, and keeps the photos for 7 days. Plus costs $39 (regular price $79) for up to 500 uploads, one month active and three months saved. Pro costs $99 (regular price $199) for unlimited uploads, three months active, a year of storage and moderation tools. The live photo wall comes with every tier.

What guests do

Guests point the phone camera at the QR code on the wall and upload in the browser; Kululu's own line: so simple even grandma will use it.

Where it fits and where another tool is better

$39 buys unlimited guests, the live wall and a bulk download, and Kululu emails you 30 days before it deletes anything. The caps are the catch. The free tier lives for a single day, and Plus caps out at 500 uploads, which 20 phones at a bar mitzvah can pass; Gathershot's Basic holds 1,000 for $59.99 and GuestCam's Standard is unlimited for $49. No personal album; neither face recognition nor WhatsApp delivery is published.

Gathershot: best for company events and conferences that approve photos first

Basic is $59.99 per event: up to 1,000 photos and videos, one co-host, unlimited guests, one year of storage. Pro is $99.99 per event: up to 5,000 photos and videos, up to 10 co-hosts, the photo scavenger hunt included. One-time, no subscription. No free plan, but you can set up the gallery and preview the flow before paying. Retention extensions exist; their price is not published.

What guests do

Scan the QR code and upload from the browser; no app store visit, no account, and Gathershot is not on the app stores at all. Uploads can open before the event and run up to 60 days after.

Where it fits and where another tool is better

Beyond conferences it covers offsites, and a communications team gets a branded page, filtered ZIP downloads and consent capture with an audit trail. The host approves, hides or deletes before anything goes public. Nothing goes back out to the attendee, though: no personal album, face recognition and WhatsApp delivery not published, and the 1,000 and 5,000 upload caps are real. GuestCam or GuestPix Medium give unlimited uploads for less if approval is beside the point, and PiciMe sends each attendee their own photos from the whole take.

POV: best for a party with a disposable-camera reveal

A calculator on the pricing page prices each event in US dollars by guest count. Ten guests or fewer cost nothing; after that it is $4.99 for up to 25, $14.99 for up to 50, $34.99 for up to 100, $64.99 for up to 175 and $89.99 for up to 250, and a contact form from 251. Custom branding, the live slideshow and 24/7 support come as a business essentials package that adds $10 to $30 by tier and is included in the free tier.

What guests do

Scanning the code or opening the link turns the phone into a disposable camera: an App Clip on iOS, a web page on Android, no full install either way. Only the host runs the POV app, setting shots per guest and the reveal time.

Where it fits and where another tool is better

The reveal is the point: everyone sees the roll together later. POV collects only what guests shoot inside POV. It does not deliver a photographer's photos, and it publishes nothing on face recognition, WhatsApp delivery, retention or video. The price climbs with the guest count, and the slideshow costs extra. PhotoCircle: best for a family or club that keeps sharing for years

Pricing is a per-person subscription: the ad-supported tier is free, and PhotoCircle+ costs $1.29 a month or $9.99 a year. No per-event price is published.

What guests do

An invite arrives as a link, a QR code or a nudge from inside the app and opens a Circle; to see or add anything, the guest installs PhotoCircle or signs in on the web, and both routes need an account.

Where it fits and where another tool is better

For a family, club or school, videos run to 1 minute free and 4 minutes on Plus, which also allows 200 photos per upload batch and a web slideshow. For 200 guests at a one-night event it is the wrong tool, and the account is why: everything else here runs in the browser, and asking a room to install and sign in loses most of it. Face recognition, a venue slideshow, retention and WhatsApp delivery are not published.

Google Photos shared albums: the free baseline

Price (checked September 2026)

Free with a Google account, which comes with 15 GB of storage shared between Photos, Drive and Gmail. No per-event price.

What guests do

A guest opens the shared link and, with Collaborate switched on, adds photos. Because it is built around Google accounts, find out how guests will be asked to join before you print anything.

Where it fits and where another tool is better

For a small group already living in Google, the photos sit in the host's own account with no expiry beyond the storage quota. Nobody gets their own photos; it is the shoebox with a search bar. No venue slideshow is published, and delivery is you pasting the link into a group. For a free event tool, Kululu and Fotify put the same shared feed on a venue screen.

Wedibox and WedUploader: wedding-only tools

Two tools in the table are built for weddings and covered in full in wedding photo sharing apps compared. Wedibox (checked September 2026) starts free with 50 guest uploads, then Embed at $29, Wedding at $49 with unlimited uploads, a wedding website, an audio guestbook, a live slideshow and a year of storage, and All-In-One at $79 with RSVP, a seating chart and two years of storage. WedUploader (checked September 2026) is $59 one-time for all your albums and writes every guest upload into your own Google Drive, so nothing expires; the ceiling is Google's free 15 GB, and a seating chart add-on is $19. Neither publishes face recognition or WhatsApp delivery, and for a birthday or a company event a wedding website is dead weight.

Best pick by event type

Not every event produces the same pile, so the same tool can be a good fit at a conference and pointless at a brit.

Weddings

A wedding photographer shoots thousands of frames and the album keeps a few hundred; a shared QR gallery never touches the rest. PiciMe Plus works from the whole take and hands each guest the frames they appear in; Premium adds the guests' uploads and the live screen (wedding photo sharing with PiciMe). Bar and bat mitzvahs

Hundreds of photos up to about 1,000, often with no professional photographer, so most of the material is on the guests' phones and scattered across the WhatsApp group. Collection comes first, then distribution per guest. PiciMe Basic collects; Premium collects, distributes and runs the live screen. Kululu Plus or GuestPix Medium give a shared feed only. Conferences and company events

The company photographer delivers far more than anyone will scroll, several people per frame, so each attendee appears in dozens of photos they will never find, and a shared gallery gets opened once and abandoned. PiciMe sends each attendee only their photos (face recognition at conferences). Gathershot is the pick when photos need approval before publishing and consent capture. Fotify's Professional subscription adds collaborators and a custom domain.

Birthdays and parties

Hundreds of photos, all from guests, and one link that needs no explaining. Kululu Free or Plus, GuestPix Small or Medium and Fotify Free cover the shared feed, and POV is the pick for the disposable-camera reveal. Brit, henna and other family events

A brit is short and produces a few hundred photos, mostly from family phones. A henna party works the same way: the guests shoot most of it, and the tool should need no explaining. Verdict

For every guest to get their own photos on WhatsApp at any event with a guest list, PiciMe: $170 for the personal album, $200 with the live screen, or $120 if a shared album with guest collection is enough. For a company event that has to approve before publishing, Gathershot. For a party on a budget, Kululu at $39 or Fotify free; GuestPix at $39 if the invitation and guestbook should sit together; POV for the reveal; GuestCam for heavy video or a self-search add-on.
